About Our Speakers:
LAURIE B. BEASLEY is co-founder of a Silicon Valley direct marketing agency, Beasley Direct Marketing, Inc., www.BeasleyDirect.com that has managed campaigns for hundreds of companies, increasing their online marketing performance, and their direct-mail and email delivery and response rates through optimization of offers and advanced personalization. The agency is a recipient of multiple marketing honors, including the Echo, Summit, Marcom, Pyramid, and Caples awards. Laurie is the president of the Direct Marketing Association of Northern California, and also is an instructor of email marketing at UC Berkeley Extension.
JOHN THYFAULT, Director of Search Engine Marketing for Vidi Emi, has more than 20 years of marketing, sales and product development experience, and he brings a proven track record of successful campaign, program and product development expertise. His knowledge of pay per click advertising, and search engine optimization, combined with an in-depth understanding of customer identification, market analysis and segmentation, allows him to deliver high returns on Vidi Emi's client's marketing investment for both business-to-consumer and business-to-business markets. Prior to specializing in search engine marketing, John was Client Services Project Director at ThirdAge.com, a first wave baby boomer lifestyle and community website and also Channel Marketing and National Account Sales for IDG Books Worldwide. Additionally, he helped to manage the wholesale distributor sales channel for Tor/Forge Books, an imprint of St. Martin's Press. John is currently teaching a Search Engine Marketing Fundementals course at the University of California, Santa Cruz, Extension. He has also led workshops for the Silicon Valley American Marketing Association, Northern California Direct Marketing Association and the Business Marketing Association.
