Kathleen Schaub, leads IDC's Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Advisory and Customer Experience Practice, She is a marketing strategist with a 30+ year career. Her career mission is helping companies achieve their business goals through better connection with customers and the application of management science to the marketing function. Kathleen accomplishes this mission as a researcher, analyst, consultant, blogger, speaker, and coach.
Kathleen's special talent is making complex and innovative concepts crystal clear. Her sharp insights combined with years of hands-on executive marketing and sales experience make her influential in setting the industry agenda on practical strategies for marketing transformation and operational excellence. Kathleen leads the CMO Advisory practice at IDC, the premier global provider of market intelligence, advisory services, and events for the information technology, telecommunications, and consumer technology markets. She held executive roles at leading technology companies, notably Sybase, where she was Vice President of Marketing Operations and earlier led product marketing. Kathleen also held executive positions at Cadence Design Systems, and she served as Chief Marketing Officer for ComputerLand. She has a bachelor's degree in design from the California College of Art and an MBA from Saint Mary's College. She serves on the advisory board of MOCCA, the marketing operations professional organization.
